AlphaBute Super & Pollene-X – Karen and Chieffy

Chris Price

When Karen’s cob, Chieftains Tanks ( or Chieffy as he is known at home) suffered a knee injury a few years ago, she was told to only expect him to cope with light hacking in the future. Chieffy was put onto Bute to help manage the pain and inflammation in his knee, however Karen began looking for a more natural alternative to relying on chemicals. In her search Karen came across Global Herbs AlphaBute Super, since then Chieffy has come on leaps and bounds and has gone on to have a successful competition career, something no one would have thought possible at the time of his injury.

Last year Karen began taking Chieffy to affiliated British Dressage events to great success, they qualified for 3 area festivals, a cob national British Dressage prelim championship and also went to TOYS (traditional of the year show) where they managed to bring home two 4th place rosettes and place in 2nd in the league for both prelim and novice dressage. After all these achievements they were named ‘Most Improved 2016’ by Cambridge and District Riding Club.

This year Chieffy turned 14 and has gone on to improve even further, repeating 2016’s success qualifying for another BD area festival, both novice and prelim cob national dressage qualifications and went to TOYS, bringing home another 4th place rosette after a frustrating judge error caused the pair to be stopped midway through their test, which disrupted their rhythm when they continued however they were only 0.5 off from 3rd place!

Chieffy has improved enormously since starting on AlphaBute and is even loving his jumping, with people commenting on his ‘bounciness’!

Chieffy has also suffered with persistent hay-fever and pollen related issues throughout the 12 years Karen has owned him, since starting on Global Herbs Pollene-X these problems have cleared up and he is breathing much happier!

‘AlphaBute is amazing, i am so proud of my boys achievements, he is not just my cob, he is a family member’
