Update from Laura Geary

We have had a very busy three weeks with lots of competitions in which all three of the horses have had top 10 placings in all of their competitions.

First was Chilham Castle BE where Edd (Nightshade II) was in the BE90 and Creme (Creme De La Creme) was in the BE100. Edd finished 2nd on his dressage score of 23 and Creme finished 9th. It was Edds first ever clear round show jumping, which we were thrilled about and therefore also his first double clear. Creme had a 29.5 dressage and a frustrating 4 faults show jumping, followed by a lovely clear round cross-country to finish bang on the optimum time (for the second event in a row). All in all a great weekend with two top 10 places and 2 clear cross-country rounds inside the time.

Next was BD to prepare for the Petplan Area Festival, Edd is going better and better and was 2nd and 1st with 65% and 67% respectively in the two Elementary (silver) tests.

The next event was Smiths Lawn where Creme had his best outing yet. He flew around the BE100 finishing 6th on his dressage score of 33.5!

Finally Edd and Dinero were at the BD Petplan Area Festival. Once again Edd was great and we were 3rd in the Elementary silver with 68%. This qualified us for the next round (Semi finals). Dinero was in the Advanced Medium Bronze section, we know that our changes are not yest fully established but we like to have a go anyway! I wouldn’t say that we were really pleased with our test with our marks ranging between 2 and 8, however we managed 9th place, just qualifying us for the Semi Finals. Lots to work on with both horses before the Semi Finals in September.

We have always maintained Dinero on MoveFree Plus and have recently put Creme onto it as well and he seems to be becoming more and more free in his movement.

The next events in the dairy are Keysoe on Saturday 26th August and then Goring Heath on the 3rd September.
