Roo’s April Update

horse-76003_1920So off to Gatcombe we go with Friendly Game, Falvaro and El Dorado. Everyone did a lovely test, with Friendly constantly checking to see who was watching – maybe I should put him back onto Global Herbs Rigcalm! It was pretty muddy and slippy in the show jumping, which was causing carnage and I started to regret coming to such a boggy event for their first comp!

Luckily they did me proud. Everyone hit a different pole, but I was pleased and we weren’t sitting too badly in the competition. I decided to take Friendly first and we went for the time. He was going brilliantly and fast…we came to the water, and as most stallions back off as they don’t like the water splashing their extras, I gave it a bit of welly …. Too much! The donkey (just kidding!) landed in the middle of the water and went down to his nose! We rescued it but we missed the skinny on the way out. Still totally chuffed with him, and after a bit of Alphabute Super he is right as rain.

The other two did lovely clears. I took them a bit steady as they are much bigger than Friendly – with the ground being a bit deep, holding wasn’t on their side.

Very excited for Larkhill next!
