“I am now settling back in at university, this however means that I have very little spare time. So far I have already had 5 essay deadlines, with 3 more to start, and I need to do my dissertation! I am trying to combine this with playing hockey 3 times a week, having a social life and also coming home to ride. So far it’s not going too badly and I have been given a 1st and a 2.1 for my first essays, and the horses are going really well at home.
A few weeks ago I went home and we took Crème and Edd out for the first indoor jumping show of the winter, it was an indoor show jumping and cross country. Crème though that it was very exciting and that breaks and steering were not necessary! Despite this he was jumping really well. He jumped a double clear in the 90 class to come 2nd and just had one down in the 1m (it was his first time doing a 1m class) to come 1st.
Edd was also jumping very well. He was jumping a lovely clear in the 90 class, being very careful, until we reached a white house. For some reason he thought that it was the scariest thing he had ever seen! A few horses looked at it so maybe the light was shining on it weirdly or something. Other than that we were very pleased with both horses.
I also went home last week to ride, this time I schooled Crème and Edd, both of them were really good. Mum has worked really hard on them all and they were all really soft and supple. I also jumped the horses at home in the evening on fireworks night, and it’s safe to say that they do not mind fireworks. At some points there were at least 5 different displays surrounding us and neither of them cared, at all!”
