“We have had a quiet couple of weeks competing wise. Mother Nature has thrown it at us somewhat so we had to spend a few weekends retrieving our field shelter from the other side of a 15 foot hedge. So the boys have all been just ticking along, mainly hacking when the weather allows.
At the weekend Bailey went out to jump. Our local venue had team showjumping in aid of Macmillan, which proved to be great fun, all for a good charity. My team comprised of me on Bailey, Bonnie also on a 4 year old, and Lisa and Gemma on slightly more experienced steeds. Bailey jumped a super clear in the first round, with the team finishing on a score of 4. Then into the timed round, Bonnie set a precedence by doing some great jump off turns and a clear, which meant Bailey and I had to follow suit. He was very up for it and he produced another fabulous clear, thoroughly enjoying himself. All 4 jumped clear in the second round which left us in 3rd place. One very happy team!
This month all 5 horses have started on Global Herbs Winter Boost to see them through the winter. Last winter they all struggled in the wet, especially 31 year old Charlie, so Winter Boost will help support them through the cold, dark, miserable time of year. They are all looking and feeling well so far, each of them find it palatable and they are all, even Charlie, cantering around the fields, which is almost unheard of. Sadly it means I have to follow them round treading in the divots!”
