Rebecca Cowderoy Update

“The yard is starting to take shape now, the solarium is now up I’m just waiting for it to be wired in and the wash down equipment has all arrived so that’ll be going in shortly. Before it starts to get cold I hope to buy a hot water wash too – no more cold baths for the horses!

I took Lisci and Rabbit to Rhett Bird’s for lessons last Friday and they were both very good. We worked on getting Rabbit’s hind leg more engaged and stepping under by doing lots of transitions on small circles.

Lisci felt fab, much more relaxed which in turn is helping with her suppleness. We worked on the canter, keeping the tempi changes straight and getting enough flexion through the half passes while keeping the canter open through the shoulder with good jump and expression. We did a little trot work at the end which felt mega. I have another lesson on Friday which should put us both spot on for the Nationals next week, I’m really looking forward to it.

Rabbit is out competing in two Novice tests at East Soley EC to hopefully finish off her winter qualification before she has her blind Woolf teeth removed on the 19th. I had entered her at Moreton Morrell on the same day but they had to cancel their competition which was a bit of a pain as East Soley will take us at least 1hr 30 mins to get there as opposed to Moreton Morrell only being 30 mins!”
