Laura Geary Update

“We have had a great few weeks with Edd (Nightshade)!

Firstly he completed his first BE90 at Munstead. Prior to this competition he had never jumped a show jumping course at 90cm before and I don’t even think we’d jumped a 90cm cross country fence before. He was amazing though! We had a 30 dressage, 2 down show jumping, (I was a bit close to one and far off of the second but he jumped the rest really well!) then a clear cross country! He was so good and as long as I say go he will always go even when he is unsure. We had some time faults because he was looking at jump judges and things so we finished just outside the placings in 12th.

Then, last week he was even more amazing and we won the Novice (Silver) at British Dressage Petplan Area Festival with 70%! After the first area festival that we did a few weeks ago we thought that he could do quite well, but we never imagined that he could win! This qualified us for the Petplan National Championships next year. We also went the wrong way on our way there so Edd only had 8 minutes warm up!

It’s hard to believe that about 6 months ago, I couldn’t ride Edd by myself. I couldn’t get on without lunging him and sometimes it took 25 minutes to get on him. We would never have though that he would now be eventing!”
