“A quiet week for a change, I just took Bailey off to a local arena with a course of show jumps set out to practise control! I put all the fences at about 90cm and played around with speed and direction. Only when putting the course together did I discover that he finds left turns particularly difficult and therein lies our problems. I realised I need to be tougher on ourselves and not just be pleased he jumped a fence!
I treated myself to a weekend off to pursue the other interest in my life, music, attending V festival. In the rain of course!
Dougal has finished his trial of Diareeze, which has done a great job keeping his droppings firm at all of his exciting outings. Having white hocks can prove distinctly problematic in these circumstances, and it definitely meant I had to wash him a little less! Certainly a supplement that will be useful for stay away shows.
Bailey was introduced to a lunge aid this week, not sure he approved, but he shouldn’t have any excuse for having a fence down behind!”
