“Evie had her nasal tube fitted as planned on Monday after Hartpury, and after some initial issues she was allowed home after a couple of days. Following a test ride on Thursday I agreed to let her compete as part of the British Showjumping Area 24 team at Arena UK on Sunday. Fitting 6 hour-long pump feeds into the day as well as her other meds is quite a challenge. She’s adapted well though and slots them in whilst travelling and tack cleaning. After a 6am feed she was on board by ten to eight for the team parade and looked fantastic.
Evie jumped the 90 sector and managed a tremendous clear in her first round followed by 8 faults in the second round over another full course. Milton was a little over keen as she already knew the way. However it was good enough to secure 4th place and Evie’s first round proved very valuable as there were many faults, stops and falls occurring throughout the competition. It was a really relaxing weekend and an incredible achievement – just the tonic we needed!”
