“I’ve had a pretty good time competing the horses last week.
I took 4yo Rabbit (Hibimona) to Quainton Stud to do a Shearwater YH Q – she was a complete star beautifully behaved to score 7.24 (72.4%) which was a bit mean but that’s Young Horse classes for you! Still absolutely delighted with her and she will make her debut at Novice level next month.
Lisci (Celicia) went to Wellington Premier League. We did the PSG and Inter 1 on Thursday and she felt great, I couldn’t have been happier with her. We made a few costly mistakes which effected our scores which were still very good. We came 7th with 67.89% in PSG, one judge had us on 70%+. I made a counting error which was rather costly! We were 12th with 68.28% in a huge and very hot Inter 1 class. Unfortunately I couldn’t get her back to trot at C after the 2x changes so we threw marks away there, but that was the best Inter 1 she had done. She’s only done a handful so I’m absolutely thrilled with her. The foreign judge had us in =5th on over 70%!
On Friday we did the one class but she didn’t feel at her best and quite tired. Mistakes and tension crept into our test and a couple of big spooks, but surprisingly another consistent score of 68.11% to finish in 9th place. I now can’t wait until the next one!
It was also lovely to finally meet Sarah from my sponsors Global Herbs.”
