“What a week!
Last Friday we went off show jumping at West Wilts again. We took Griff, Tadpole, Raven, Otto and my livery Kati Phillips took her horse Ruebin. Everyone was pretty fresh but did a good job. Otto and Ruebin were the only double clears but learnt a lot from the outing.
On Tuesday we got up nice and early and took three lorries up to Aston le Walls. I rode all my eight ponies for next year and Elaine Yates and Viccie Parfitt took their own horses Ted and Suzie. It was a seriously windy day, everyone was very excited. All the horses were brilliant, Viccie and Elaine were schooling their horses for the first time and apart from small bits and bobs had a great time. Sirius was so pleased and very confident. So confident he didn’t notice the ditch despite me trying to warn him. He was so surprised he deposited me in the middle and turned around and just looked at me! Luckily he when I got back on he was totally awesome and remembered to look down! Tadpole was great however I couldn’t get him to leave the arena. The wind was so bad the jump wings on the bank had fallen down and he was not too keen on getting too close! It was great to get the horses out and I thought everyone enjoyed the outing and got some great experience from it.
This Friday we headed back to West Wilts, yes we are thinking of moving in! This time it was dressage. Otto and Griff were excellent, Tadpole and Bella although green really improved in their second test. Batty was last to go and typically had very little time to warn up for the new intermediate test which went pretty badly. His second test was better but still rusty. It was his first dressage outing so hopefully next time things will be smoother!
Another busy week coming!”
