Sally Morton runs House of Mole in Ross on Wye and stocks a wide range of Global Herbs supplements. Her young horse Mole is fed on GlobalVite, and has had a very successful career so far – here’s their story:
“Here are a couple of photos from the recent British Breeding Futurity grading where we took Mole. This is a national grading for British bred horses and grades according to the evaluators assessment for the potential of the horse to compete in their chosen sphere. We took Mole, our 3yo in the eventing section.
They have a veterinary assessment for conformation, movement and condition first. This is to assess for straightness, balance, top line and general conformation as well as body mass etc. They are moved on the concrete in walk and trot, backed up and turned in a tight circle in both directions.
Following this, the horses go through to the indoor school to the evaluators. They look at the horse standing and then moving on a triangle in walk and trot. The horse is then released to show them the canter and as Mole was in the eventing section they also encourage some lengthening too. 3yo eventers also have to loose jump to 1 metre.
The whole process is scored throughout and then based on the percentage scored, horses are graded elite for the top 5%, down through first, second and third or not graded. Mole was graded with a first which means they believe she has the potential to succeed at national eventing level. They were particularly impressed with her jumping.
Mole has only ever been fed roughage since weaning and is supplemented with Global Herbs GlobalVite. This is the same for her younger siblings who are looking equally promising. The foal we have just weaned is being fed Youngstock. Mole has been shown successfully at County level since being a foal. We haven’t been out at all this year as the shop has demanded too much of my time and I have been unable to fit everything in, but she has won at the Three Counties Show and at Monmouthshire Show, where she also took reserve champion in the sports horse breeding. Mole is a very vibrant character and always shines on the day. Globalvite is undoubtedly doing her some good as she looks phenomenal. Mole has been backed and will be doing Burghley Young Event horse next year and possibly a couple of 4yo classes BE if all goes to plan.”
The whole Global Herbs range can be purchased from Sally at www.HouseofMole.co.uk or at their shop in Ross on Wye.
