How to keep your horse supple and comfortable
Our joint products are designed to provide nutritional assistance to help
the body repair itself and soothe discomfort. Whenever your horse walks or
gallops it puts strain on its joints. This strain causes damage every day but
when it is healthy the body is able to repair itself quickly. Joint problems
occur when the body’s ability to repair itself is weakened and daily damage
occurs faster than the repair processes. Getting your horse back into balance
with our herbs and minerals is essential both in the short and long term. You
will be surprised what is possible and how quickly you notice the difference.

We can summarise the basic strategy for all horses by saying:

Our principle joint product. MovefreePlus is a unique herbal
formula for horses that require the best help possible for their
joints. Movefree can be used just as easily in horses that are unable to move freely
as those that need to maintain the highest degree of flexibility and fitness. It can also
be used routinely at lowel levels to maintain good joint condition or intensively for
short and long periods in difficult situations. The formula helps lubricate joints by
providing nutritional support to joint fluids. It also helps soothe joints and maintains
normal regenerative ability in order that the wear and tear of every day activity does not
accumulate and cause difficulty.
Use of Restore at the start of a course of MovefreePlus can be beneficial for
detoxification. StrongBone can also be important at a maintenance level to help with
calcium balance of the bones within joints. When using MovefreePlus there is no need

DIRECTIONS:
For a 450kg horse, feed two level 25ml scoops twice daily. This is equivalent to feeding approx 50gm a day After 2-3 months this amount can
be reduced according to response. However the higher level and the longer you

Bute-X powder is a much more potent alternative to the use of products based on Devils Claw. Provides nutritional help in only a
few hours. Ideal for use with Movefree and StrongBone during the course of a herbal regime for the joints. Also important for muscle

StrongBone
For the strongest joints & bones

As you will read in our joint information pack, strong bone development is key
to avoiding so many common joint concerns. The herbs in StrongBone work
incomparably better than Limestone in supporting strong natural bone growth.
Limestone is not absorbed very well at all. StrongBone can be used in horses of any
age. In the young it can be used to encourage proper skeletal development and in
older animals it can be used routinely to ensure that joints remain as strong as they
were when younger.
The herbs in strong bone go a long way to ensuring a perfect balance between
the need for Calcium, Magnesium and Phosphorus - the most important minerals
for skeletal development. It is also worthwhile feeding GlobalVite for a source of
other key minerals but even diets that are short of Calcium will usually be suitable
if StrongBone is added as a food supplement. The herbs in StrongBone work by
attaching to minerals in the diet and improving the way they are digested.
When to use StrongBone
1. At a low level as a routine supplement to support strong joints
2. For young stock to support good skeletal development.
3. In specific situations in any horse as part of a supplement program designed to
support normal joint function.
4. As a food supplement when there has been any damage to the skeletal system
5. To help with milk production in mares.
DIRECTIONS:

Windgall
Nutrition for the fetlocks

Every horse
has Windgalls to some extent. This is the area around the
fetlock where joint and tendon fluid creates a soft area under
the skin. In some horses this swelling may be quite pronounced
if there is not enough or too much exercise. The fluid that is
in this soft area provides nutrition to the underlying areas and
lubrication so all the parts of the joints and tendons slide
against each other easily.
Our new
WindGall formula is designed to provide all the nutrition that
this part of the body needs to remain in good condition and
trouble free. You can feed the formula over prolonged periods or
just for a month or two if you have specific concerns at a given
time.
We
also advise that you might consider using StrongBone regularly
at a low level. This ensures the body absorbs calcium magnesium
and phosphorus properly and that all the joint structures are as
robust as is possible. You do not however need to use
MovefreePlus with WindGall. Extra Bute-X may be useful on days
of particulary hard exercise and on and the day after
particularly strenuous competition.
We find this
product very useful and it assists greatly the sensible and
careful management of healthy active joints.

Glucosamine
And Joints
Most people have
heard of glucosamine. This neutraceutical (nutritional pharmaceutical)
is actually a chemical which provides the building blocks for cartilage
in the joints and collagen in tendons and ligaments. It is often used
with MSM and chondroitin.
So Glucosamine helps
with nutrition to these parts of the body but it also has asoothing
action on uncomfortable areas. It has been shown that horses feel a bit
more comfortable when it is fed. It is however true that cartilage and
tendons need a lot more than just glucosamine and just feeding this
chemical is a rather misleading approach to joint support. We prefer to
use Movefree because it helps with the total nutrition to joints via the
stickiness of synovial joint fluids. It is the joint fluid that feeds
the inside of your horse's joints so that they can work properly.
